Your Exam Day

An Exam Day is an important day for most candidates. Being prepared on this day ensures a smooth process and makes your exam a positive experience.

Before the exam

  • Check the date, time, and address of your TCF Test. We will send you this information as an Entry Statement prior to your exam.
  • Remember to check how long it will take you to travel to the exam, especially if your exam is at a weekend or on a holiday.
  • Get to the exam early! At the venue, follow the direction signs to find the exam room or go to the reception of the building and ask for directions.

Things to bring to your exam

  • Bring your valid identification document (no copies) to your TCF Test de connaissance du français test! As identification documents, passport, personal ID card, residence permit and driver's license are accepted. All candidates are required to present a valid and non-expired identification on all exam days.
  • Do not bring laptops, iPads, tablets, eReaders or smartwatches to the exam.
  • Please bring a printout of your exam invitation to the exam.

During the exam

  • Mobile phones and other electronic devices may not be used during the entire day of the examination
  • Do not bring bags, jackets, etc. to your desk.
  • Do not bring food or drinks to your desk in the exam room. You are allowed to bring water in a white transparent PET bottle.
  • Listen carefully to the instructions which the invigilator will read out.
  • Do not talk to other people or try to see what they are writing.
  • There will be a clock in the exam room to help you with your timing.

At the end of each part of the exam

  • Give all papers to the supervisor or invigilator, including question papers, answer sheets, rough paper, etc.
  • If you have any questions or problems, tell the invigilator immediately.
